Compare measurements and pictures with a few of your favorite jeans/pants because measurements vary within sizes--especially with pre-owned items. Measurements are given as approximates in inches. How We Measure: Items are measured flat. Hip measurements are taken from the bottom of the fly. When we take the waist measurement we lay the jean flat and align the waistband. When jeans are laid flat the front half of the waist band almost always dips lower than the back half. If you don't align both halves, you'll get a shorter measurement than you are supposed to. Low rise jeans measure greater around the waistband of the jean than the waist measurement given on the tag reads because low rise jeans sit at the hips.
