Clay Modeling workshop

This workshop was conducted by on 06th Dec,2022 at SOAW campus.
The aim of this workshop was to give the touch and feel of clay which is naturally relaxing, clay helps students understand the three dimensional aspect of this world. They rolled, flattened, pinched, tapped, etc. that not only help them to develop fine motor skills but also help them to understand the concept of 3D shapes, Learning of basic design principles with an emphasis on three-dimensional design, and the ability to apply these principles to a specific aesthetic intent.

Medini workshops

This workshop is immersive with hands-on exercises in different disciplines to effectively learn and apply the software. The software can be leveraged to create technical drawings, architectural and site plans, machines, parts, furniture, schematics, and so much more

ENVIRONMENT RESPONSIVE ARCHITECTURE

Sustainable methods of construction are one of the oldest forms of construction methods. A building constructed by an Architect should respond to the Surrounding Environment. Keeping the above concept an Environment Responsive Architecture workshop was conducted on 9th, 12th and 19th June 2022 By Ar.K.R.Ganesh at GSSS SOAW campus. Students were introduced to sustainable construction techniques and their advantages on day1. Time was given to design a security cabin & three bedroom houses in response to the site location chosen by the students. Students were given certificates for their participation in the workshop

ORIGAMI & KIRIGAMI

Origami is the Japanese art of paper folding. In modern usage, the word "origami" is often used as an inclusive term for all folding practices, regardless of their culture of origin. The goal is to transform a flat square sheet of paper into a finished sculpture through folding and sculpting techniques. Students of architecture were taught this art by Prof.Satish Rao, who is well versed with the origami and kirigami techniques and they had an amazing and very interesting workshop with the guidance. It was held on 08/10/2022.

WATER PAINTING AND SKETCHING

Painting is a form of visual art that captures the expression of ideas and emotions on a two-dimensional surface. As part of Induction Program Students got an opportunity to do a live painting and also they were taught how to paint in water colour. The subject chosen for painting was the elevation of the main reception block of engineering college. All students painted the same building but yet their paintings were not the same, because of the observation, scales, colours, and our thinking process that differs from person to person. Later they also attended the sketching workshop. Where they were taught about the steps involved in pencil sketching and sketched hostel block and its precincts which is within our campus.
