Off Campus Learning. Students visited Electrical Installation station on 30-09-2022

On Campus Learning. Student spending time with classmates positively affects their grades better. Natural learners benefit from being on-campus, too, as they usually adopts knowledge from their surroundings. As for kinesthetic learners, they will learn the best when they're actively engaged - by doing, rather than listening to lectures.

Brick Factory Visit : The factory visit to Nanjundeshwara Brick Factory was held on 30th January, 2021. The factory was located at Naganahalli , Mysore, near Hosahalli, which is about 25 minutes away from GSSS SOAW. All twelve students along with one faculty went to Nanjundeshwara Brick Factory by a college bus. The company focuses on making Mud Bricks and Fly Ash Bricks with abundant equipment and machineries they have. The company has numerous machineries to attain perfection in bricks they make. The students found themselves fortunate as they could make bricks using moulds. The visit to the brick factory was highly informative and extremely interesting where students were glad to take in the information provided there. .

Preethi Granites : Site visits to industries that produce materials are much-needed activities for Architecture students. Visit to these sites enhances the knowledge of materials and their characteristics. GSSS SOAW organizes many visits to various such industries to enhance the knowledge of students; one such was to 'Preethi Granites' in Mysuru. The first batch students visited Preethi Granites on 6th February 2021. Students were guided about the types and process which happens before it is released into the market for sale.

KABINI POWER PLANT: As per the academic curriculum of 5th semester building services - ii(electrical) To understand the power generation system students visited Kabini Power plant on 12th of December 2022 in collaboration with Engineering dept. Kabini Hydro Power Plant is commissioned in 1974 and has installed capacity of 20 Megawatt.

OM BRICK FACTORY: Visit to OM Brick factory on 28th December 2023. The visit was conducted for 1st sem students and 3rd sem students to understand the manufacturing process of wire cut bricks .

HERITAGE WALK: As part of Induction Program the Heritage Walk to Chennakeshava Temple, Somanathapura on 10/12/2022 in collaborated with senior batches. Students have done on spot sketching activity.

RAJA BRICK FACTORY: Visit to Raja Brick factory on 6th January 2023. The visit was conducted for 1st sem students to understand the manufacturing process of Wall Tiles, facing wall tiles, hexagonal wall tiles, Matt Wall Tiles, Roof Tiles, bamboo roof tiles, Italian roof tiles, Mangalore roof tiles, Floor Tiles, designer vitrified tile, Ceramic Wall Tiles, Clay Tiles, flooring tiles, Tiles, Clay Split Tiles, Clay Wall Cladding Tiles, Clay Ceiling Tiles, Clay Wall Tiles, Terracotta Tiles, Weather Proof Tiles, octagon floor tiles, round floor tiles, Verona floor tiles, leaves wall tiles, Bamboo Wall Tiles001, Clay Floor Tiles, Granite Floor Tiles, Cement blocks, Clay Roofing Tiles, Ceiling Tiles

GLASS FACTORY: Visit to Enviro Safety factory on 25th march 2023. It was conducted for 6th sem students. Enviro Safety Glass is a Mysore (Karnataka) based Glass Processing unit. Students were able to see the process of manufacturing of Toughened or Tempered Glass, Double Glazed Unit or Insulated Glass, Laminated Safety Glass, Security Glass etc during the visit.

KUKKARAHALLI LAKE: An Interactive Earth Day NATURE WALK with Sri.U.N.Ravikumar, Naturalist at Kukkarahalli Lake on 26/04/2023. Kukkarahalli Lake located in the heart of Mysore city spread across an area of 58 hectares. The lake was once a big attraction to bird watchers even now. Now, the number of birds visiting the lake has reduced to about 2,000. They are found to breed in the isolated bird island. This nature walk was guided by Mr. Ravikumar, a naturalist, who introduced the students to various species of trees present in the lake premises. The objective was to help people know about the trees, how to identify them and study the pattern and realize the importance of Ecosystem.
